Dr. V Mohan Dr. V Mohan is the Managing Director of the M.V. Diabetes Specialities Centre (P) Ltd., and President of Madras Diabetes Research Foundation at Gopalapuram, Chennai. He has been recently appointed as Professor of International Health at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. Dr. Mohan had a brilliant academic career; he has won more than 20 national and international awards for his outstanding contribution in the field of Diabetes Care and Research, including the Shakuntala Amir Chand Prize for Young Scientists from the Indian Council of Medical Research, the Boeringer-Knoll Junior Lectureship, the Hoechst Senior Lectureship oration and recently the Tamil Nadu Scientist Award (TANSA Award). Dr. Mohan is presently the Regional Editor for South East Asia for the prestigious journal Hormone and Metabolic Research published from Germany and Associate Editor of the Asian Journal of Diabetology. He represents India on the Asian Study on Young Diabetes based at Singapore and Action Against Diabetes in Asia based in Australia. He is one of the few medical doctors to be awarded the Doctor of Science degree (D.Sc.). He has published over 300 original research papers including 180 in international journals. His areas of interest are Diabetes and its related complications, and area of research includes diabetes-related complications particular in relation to cardiovascular disease. Dr. Rema MohanDr. Rema Mohan is the Joint Managing Director and Ophthalmologist of M.V. Diabetes Specialities Centre (P) Ltd., and the Secretary of Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, Gopalapuram, Chennai. She is one of the few Ophthalmologists to be awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Her research work on Diabetic Retinopathy in Indians is nationally and internationally recognised. She is one of the few Ophthalmologists in the country to be trained in grading of retinal photographs according to the Wisconsin classification system. She has published more than 50 papers on Diabetic Retinopathy in national and international journals including Archives of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Diabetes Care etc. Her area of interest is Diabetic Retinopathy. Dr. N G SastryDr. N G Sastry is a consultant Diabetologist at M.V. Diabetes Specialities Centre (P) Ltd., Gopalapuram, Chennai. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Andhra University, India. He underwent extensive training in Modern Management in Diabetology at the King's Diabetes Centre at U.K. He has published more than 10 papers in well reputed journals. His present area of interest is diabetic foot complications. Dr. G PremalathaDr. G Premalatha is a consultant Diabetologist at M.V. Diabetes Specialities Centre (P) Ltd., Gopalapuram, Chennai. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Stanley Medical College and has done her fellowship in Diabetology at MVDSC. Dr. Premalatha has undergone extensive training on the special aspects of Diabetology at Steno Memorial Diabetic Centre, Denmark. She has presented papers at several symposia and conferences at the national level and has published more than 35 papers in well reputed journals. Area of interest is clinical research in diabetes. Dr. RamuDr. Ramu is a consultant Diabetologist at M.V. Diabetes Specialities Centre (P) Ltd., Gopalapuram, Chennai. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Vitebsk Medical Institute, USSR and completed his fellowship in Diabetology at MVDSC. His area of interest includes Clinical research in Diabetes. Dr. Raj MohanDr. Raj Mohan is a junior consultant Diabetologist at M.V. Diabetes Specialities Centre (P) Ltd., Gopalapuram, Chennai. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Kerala University and completed his M.D. degree at Dr. MGR Medical University and a DIP.NB.
